Good to Update My Ethernet Runs to Gigabit Speeds – My house was wired for 10/100mb ethernet speeds 25 years ago. Well, times have changed and now most systems are gigabit speeds. I upgraded my cable modem and then replaced my router and they are both gigabit capable, but my switches and cables are still 10/100mb. So I ordered a couple of these TP-Link TL-SG108 | 8 Port Gigabit Unmanaged Ethernet Network Switches. You really don’t need to do much, just plug them into power and move your ethernet cables over to them. They just work. Now, I still need to rerun some of the older Cat5 cables with new Cat6e cables to get the full benefit, but I can slowly do that in the coming weeks.

Packs lots of features, reasonably priced for a 24-port managed Gig switch – This review is for the 24-port managed switch model from TP-Link…

    3. O. K (verified owner)

Bought 2, one is perfect one was DOA – I recently purchased two TP-Link TL-SG108 8-port gigabit switches and overall, I am very happy with my purchase. One of the switches arrived and worked perfectly right out of the box, providing fast and reliable connectivity for all of my devices.

    4. B. M (verified owner)

Perfect upgrade for my home network – My network needed an upgrade form the older 10/100 hardware. I put this network switch in place of my older model without any hick-ups. Setup was simple, just plug and play because it’s unmanaged switch, there is nothing else to do. AS you can imagine, the network speedup was easy to verify. I prefer the TP-Link brand and have used this brand in the past. So, I know they make very good sturdy products. I did change out the Cat5 cables for new Cat9 cables, my network now works better than ever.

    7. Z. N (verified owner)

worked exactly as needed – The mesh pod in my office only had two ethernet ports and I have several connected devices I need to plug in. This switch did the trick and worked instantly. I plugged in the power and the ethernet devices and everything was online immediately. No muss no fuss.

    8. O. L (verified owner)

Works perfectly, plug and play – Works perfectly to expand my home network. The ISP router has insufficient Ethernet outlets for hard wiring my equipment. One Ethernet cable from the router to the switch and Ethernet cables from the switch to equipment. No hassles, just plug and play.

Great little unmanaged switch, plug and play with no issues – Using this in my home theater equipment rack to network the streaming boxes, receiver, and bluray player. It’s exactly what it should be, plug and play with no fuss. Plug in the power cord and the network lines and you are up and running in less than 3 minutes.
