– I got one of these to connect my TV to the internet. I looked at USB sticks but was not sure if the TV would be compatible (how would you load the correct driver?). In the end, I opted for this one, I connected it to the wifi and connected the box to the telly using the Ethernet cable provided. I also powered it using the USB socket on the TV so it is a self contained little thing. Setting it ups was extremely easy, but you will need a laptop or a tablet (although you can do it on a mobile phone as well, but the webpage does not size easily to the small screen).

– Te venden como nuevo un producto usado y no se molesten ni en resetearlo. Al encenderlo el nombre de la red era del usuario anterior (jazztel###). Es fácil darse cuenta de que un hacker podría utilizar este dispositivo para instalar un software malicioso, devolverlo a amazon y esperar a que se lo vendan a otra persona para acceder a las claves de su wifi, sus fotos, sus archivos del trabajo, sus cuentas bancarias, sus horarios de entrar y salir de casa, video en directo de las cámaras que cuidan de su familia… en fin. Soy el primero que compro productos reacondicionados, pero cuando compro algo como nuevo me gusta que sea nuevo. Quien quiera arriesgar la seguridad de su red doméstica comprando un modem reacondicionado es libre de hacerlo y seguramente no le pase nada, pero es muy preocupante que una empresa como amazon te ponga en semejante riesgo sin avisarte de ello. Por suerte un hacker se habría molestado en mantener el nombre de red original, así que no me voy a molestar ni en devolverlo, pero tiene tela…
