Needs a coordinating so-fi plan – T-Mobile told me to get this – it would solve my hot-spot speed and connectivity problems. (I could put my T-mobile phone SIM card in this and use it as a hot-spot. My T-mobile locked phone giving me massive headaches, I wanted to use an old phone for its display. ) This device goes with a separate wi-fi plan and requires a different SIM card. This seems to be designed for specific uses. A handful (6? 10? ) users can connect to it as a hot-spot – using up that part of your data/speed. At home, one would just use a regular wi-fi. I guess if you’re out and in a group this would save your phone processing and battery.

Not 5G but 4G LTE and it works – It took T-Mobile to help set it up with my SIM card. Once that was done on a phone call I use this all the time vs airport or hotel WIFI due to the risk of hacking on the others. It flat worked just fine. Have had no issues. Why pay T-Mobile $90 bucks.

Great value – I had an extra device line free with Tmobile and this is a perfect inexpensive way to use it! Works great as a backup internet source at home or on the go. Just wish the screen and buttons had more functionality. I don’t even think I can change the password.

Works well as long as your SIM card supports Band 71 – I purchased a T-Mobile travel SIM card to use with this hot-spot, but I didn’t realize at the time of purchase that the T-Mobile SIM card did NOT use Band 71.

Already-activated Tello SIM seems to have worked without a fuss – The person that I bought this for reported borrowing their phone’s already-activated Tello SIM (with data plan) to place into the T-Mobile hotspot. The hotspot worked, allowing his other devices to access the internet.
