EAP610 – I think I got a dud? Not Impressed.. – After having used an all in one modem/router/access point from an ISP and seeing 600Mbps out the gate on its WiFi6 radio I figured this AP should have a decent shot since it advertises speeds of 1500+ Mbps. I have decent networking knowledge I would claim.. I can say with confidence that I know the difference between Mbps and MBps.. I pay for 1Gb symmetric fiber, the wired connection gets a solid 900/900Mbps consistently.

Install instructions were wrong, Tech service could not help. Brother inlaw came to rescue – Install instruction keep referring to a product code Q code which was not present. Tech service tried but could not help. Brother in law came to my rescue. Unit works well have ordered another one.

Es buen acceso point – Es muy bueno, solo que no trae inyector de PoE, vino fue con cargador normal de energía

  4. A. O (verified owner)

Amazing signal strength – This review is for the EAP 245 in a commercial environment. I initially started with a Google nest mesh system for a small business system. However a single 245 point blew out three mesh points from Google.

Easy setup, great technical support – While this is a business product, I use two of these for my home network. I love that I can access each one via the Omada app, which allows me to reboot each individually if needed. You can also control the LED light (on/off) on the device (I turn one of them off because it is located in my home theater). And you can view how many and which devices are connecting to each EAP. When I had a problem with one of the devices (cause unknown), Xandrex at TP-Link customer support was able to walk me through troubleshooting and get me back up and running.

Excellent component of our TP-Link networked household – When I wanted to consolidate the 3 different WiFi systems on my rambling homestead, I looked at off-the-shelf systems such as Orbi. They didn’t offer all of the options that TP-Link does, such as outdoor APs. The ability to control things centrally AND locally was a big selling point too. I’m pleased with having chosen TP-Link as a vendor.

Works good with easy app setup – Its smaller than i expected about 1 1/2″ wide by 16″ including antenna. It will need two Ethernet cords, one from the internet service to the poe adapter (likely should be short only 2-3 feet mount near service provider box) and another from the adapter to the wifi access point antenna (could be 100s of feet away if needed). Where ever you mount it.

Works perfect in my detached garage – I wanted internet access in my detached garage that’s ~75 feet from my house so I can have things like security cameras and Wi-Fi operated garage door openers. I buried cat6 cable and connected it in the garage to the EAP610 mounted on the ceiling. Wi-Fi signal is strong and fast. Running an Xfinity Gig speed 1 gb/s plan, I’m seeing over 700 Mb/s in my garage and I have strong Wi-Fi coverage in most of my backyard now. Very happy with this access point for the price.
