– It’s misleading it says it works through wall and this is the main reason I purchased this and once connected I put one unit inside the house and 1 in my garage 10 feet away only and I got very low signal on 5G my internet speed is 400mb and I got 2mb in my garage also inside the house I don’t get the full speed like directly from my modem. It’s very light weight units like empty plastic don’t know why they built it so big. Anyway it’s waste of time and money since it doesn’t do what it says. Fouls marketing do not buy it.

– My parents have garbage rural internet and a large, spread-out house and property. Obviously there’s nothing to be done about the speed, but the signal within the house and to their garage has always been rough. I’ve tried a few different setup, including powerline and multiple routers, but never had much luck.

Total balance of WiFi throughout my home. – I recently got T-Mobile’s home internet and for the most part it’s working out great but unfortunately their router left me with several dead zones in the house. I’ve always had good luck with TP-Link products so after some research I decided I’d give these a try. I knew there are thick block and masonry walls dividing some rooms so I went with the powerline backhaul version. If you’re not familiar this was a technology that was developed and abandoned many years ago but it definitely appears that TP-Link has perfected it. It will basically use your home’s electrical wiring to carry the internet signal to each of its devices when one or more are out of reach of its WiFi signal. I’m not sure how well this would work out for apartment dwellers but for a single family home it’s working great.

So flawed I actually had time to return it – I purchased the TP link deco whole home mesh Wi-Fi system based on a recommendation from Wirecutter on the New York Times website. They recommended it as the budget solution to weak Wi-Fi signals in your home.
