Great Performance, Super Simple Config, Lacking Advanced Options – I purchased three of these to cover a strangely shaped home where I could not run a third Ethernet cable. Two are hardwired into my PoE switch and one is plugged into an AC adapter to provide extra coverage outdoors (the AP is located indoors). The mesh wireless works great. Setting them up was a breeze; it took longer to mount them than to configure them.

  2. Z. B (verified owner)

Very easy installation – Replaced some older access points in our office with these. Installation was very easy using their phone app and I had 4 of these installed in about 30 minutes. Speed seems really good and walked around the office, making sure that it was handing off to the closest WAP and it worked flawlessly.

Easy setup, poor signal – Setup was a breeze, install the app plug it in and it works. But signal is severally lacking. Ring doorbell maybe 15ft from the AP would not connect even with the extended 2.4 signal turned on. I was also having issue with connection in my office upstairs about 20ft away from the AP.

Good upgrade after 4 years on another system. – These took quite a bit of experimentation to get up and running, but the end result is what I was looking for. I have it currently as the access points wired to a 1930 Aruba POE switch which is going to SB8200 Surboard modem. I had to upgrade everything from the modem to the AP to take advantage of the higher speed Spectrum service plan that I was changed to. My existing Unifi Security Gateway to Netgear switches and Ubiquiti APs were having speeds capped at about 130 mbps for some unexplained reason. After several attempts to figure out the Aruba setup, I finally got it all up and running. The AP22 is easy to manage and seems like an unlimited amount of SSIDs can be created and managed (the Unifi max was 4 SSIDs). The WiFi speeds are showing what my Spectrum service is providing (near 500 mbps). I have 3 AP22s setup on a 9000 sq ft property and covering is excellent inside the structures and good outside around the open areas of the property. It was a bit of an expensive equipment upgrade just to take advantage of the higher speed service I was now supposed to be getting considering I already had an expensive Ubiquiti network that was working fine at with the previous 100 mbps service levels. Hopefully this setup lasts more than 4 years. The one thing that I am not fully happy with is the look of the AP because it doesn’t blend in to the ceiling like the Ubiquiti APs do. They are pretty ugly for a home setup. Also the LED on the AP only has on or off settings, no dim/bright. So if you turn it off so the LED doesn’t distract like in a bedroom, there is no visual indication to look at to see if it is working.

I had forgotten the peace that comes from stability. – I’ve used many big names in residential Wi-Fi routers. I don’t think I should mention brands, but 4 major brands sold here on Amazon for mesh networking all failed in some way. Random devices dropping or rebooting every other day were the norm.

Rock solid – Was using a bunch of Eero 6 Pros before and made the switch due to the entire Eero network going down every now and then for no obvious reason.

Great price to be able to VLAN your WiFi – I had 7 (yes, 7) Eero 6 routers in mesh in my house.
