Easy to setup – I already have an internet router, just needed a Wifi AP. I work in the Wifi industry. Wifi radios having more spatial streams will provide better range and speed since more antennas in general offers greater spatial diversity and transmit beamforming.

Excellent for home use as well – Originally I had purchased a EAP-225-Outdoor and put it on our back porch because the wifi signal was so weak out there. We have TechShield on the room and the sheathing under the brick and it basically makes our house a Faraday cage. A couple of years ago I got this EAP-225 for the front of the house along with a 4-port POE switch and an OC200 Cloud controller. Setup was a breeze. Most recently I added a EAP-235-Wall in the garage so that I could have wifi available for our PV system controller.

– I’ve been waiting to get an access point last four years. Ubiquiti APs are bit expensive and also required to run a software on PC or buy their cloud key to manage, so I stayed away waiting.. My wait is over. This is a perfect access point for my needs. My house is about 1500sqft main floor plus the basement. I have this Acesspoint on the main floor and I get no dead spot in the basement. It’s amazing. I use the VLAN with my pfsense router to isolate guest access. Streaming HI-def movies to Chromecast and Fire stick just works. It came with the POE injector so don’t have to buy POE switch. I never have to reboot once.

EAP265 HD Works Well — Doesn’t play well with older AP’s in the network – These TP-link AP’s offer a cost effective and expandable way to setup a WiFI network in a larger residence and the centralized controller allows for configuring them all at once to setup an optimal WiFi network with multiple SSID’s. The cost is a major attraction and the features are much better than what you get in the average WiFi routers in the same price range as a couple of these. When properly mounted, these things blend well with the rest of the wall/ceiling decor in the house.

– I replaced an existing Wavlink outdoor router with this one, as I was experiencing issue with variable netwoork speed and random network drops. The TP-Link EAP225 is super easy to set up and works a lot better than the older one I was using. I am connecting this to my main router by ~80m of Cat7 and I am able to maintain the ISP network speed of 300mbs with no network drops. Seems pretty well built, but time will tell.
