Awesome speed and performance on Mac Pro 2020 tower! – I have a new Mac Pro 2020 tower. Since I use both Mac OS & Windoze professionally, I set it up with 2 bootable drives. Of course the Mac OS runs perfect out of the gate…

Exactly As It Says – Plug and play on various platforms, and has just worked. Benchmarks have reached the quoted speeds reliably. While it does get warm, that’s the nature of using a passive block of aluminum for cooling. It’s not uncomfortable, just noticeable (but are you really resting your hand on this thing? Unlikely). The cable is detachable, big plus, as is the silicon sleeve that protects it for travel use.

Great follow up support – Great product and even better technical support. I was initially having some problems with my computer kernel panicking periodically after plugging it in and they helped me troubleshoot an issue with the network cable (Cat 5e instead of a minimum of 6) and set the device next to my TB3 dock instead of on top of it (since the device is passively cooled the excess heat from the dock was too much.)

Gets a bit warm – I have been using this 10Gb/s adapter with my Gigabyte Aero 15x laptop. I use it to connect to the Mikrotik CRS305-1G-4S+IN switch utilizing it’s S+RJ10 SFP+ module (this adapter doesn’t use SFP+, just the switch). It does get a bit warm to the touch and could likely benefit from having active cooling or a larger heatsink design (the case is the heatsink in this case). Also the USB C cable is not detachable so if it get’s pulled/bent I’m not sure that it can be replaced.

unstable and doesn’t boot once – It is unstable, it tends to disconnect and many times it does not start with the Mac. Many times you have to restart twice to connect. Works very hot, the problem is the chip. OWC service is very good, in general they serve the customer well and respond quickly, but device doesnt have quality, maybe if they improve a new firmware.

Unstable under 10Gbase-T. – This NIC is well-made and a little heavy.
