Worked right out of the box – I have a bunch of wired machines connected to my xFinity router through this switch. I took it out of the box, connected everything up, and it worked first time. No complaints. (It really is too simple to mess up – you plug it in, you plug in all the RJ-45 cables to your computers, and it just runs).

No complaints. (It really is too simple to mess up – you plug it in, you plug in all the RJ-45 cables to your computers, and it just runs).

Adds Much Needed Additional Ports – I ordered this 16-Port switch to upgrade my old 8-port one and have been very pleased with it for the two weeks that I have had it.

Fun while it lasted – I purchased this in 2017 for my first home Ethernet system. We were signed up for 100m cable internet at the time and it worked well. This switch is gigabyte ready. 2022 and a new company is offering 600m fiber internet with TV for a little less than the cable company that boost to 200m for free to try and retain customers. After the installation, the internet looked good. Then later the same day the tv started buffering. I checked the speed and every test was different. No internet, 10m, 100m, 300m. The next day it stabilized at 97. I plugged my router into the fiber interface and it was showing 630m, I plugged into the router about the same, I plugged into the switch and 97m. I don’t know what the life of a residential use switch is but at some point we reached it and didn’t know till we upgraded our home internet. I went with TP-Link switch this time.

Working flawlessly so far. – I purchased one of these a couple of years ago and it has worked great, so I recently bought one for a client, and she has had zero problems so far. I have 5 security cameras, computers, and tv’s along with a roku and xfinity box attached, and they all work seamlessly. 2 of my cameras are connected to a 4 port switch in front of this one, which I then connected to this unit, and it streams videos smoothly. So far so good. Keep in mind however, that I have very fast internet (900+mbps) and I know this does have an affect on performance, just to be fair.
