Improved WiFi Speed in Far Side of Home – They worked for this situation (every situation is different with WiFi LOL). Customer called us to a fix wireless problem with Netflix buffering and slow to load movie. Netgear R7000 Router in basement on one end of home – TV is 1 floor up on opposite side of home (3,200 sq ft). Verified Netflix buffers a lot and very slow to load a movie. Use TV’s built-in web browser to run speed test at speedtest.net and xfinity and its only getting between 2 and 5Mbps (FYI: you need at least 7Mbps to stream an HD movie without buffering). Installed these 3 – 9dbi antennas on the R7000 and Internet speed is now 14 to 20Mbps consistently! Customer is very happy that Netflix now loads a movie very quickly!

My conclusion is that they’ll probably make the usability of the wifi at moderate distances outside the house a bit better than the stock antennae – Replaced the three external antennae of an ASUS RT-AC86U with these, hoping to increase range and signal strength at the furthest distances outside my house. I measured signal strengths via a wifi-analyzer app on my phone at a few locations before and after. The overall usable range didn’t increase much with these longer antennae, although the signal strength did increase by a few db at the outer edges and as much as 5db at some of the moderate distances. Inside the house, the signals measured about the same in most places. My conclusion is that they’ll probably make the usability of the wifi at moderate distances outside the house a bit better than the stock antennae, but not really increase the size of my wifi-bubble much. The cost of the antennae was approximately 5% of the cost of the router, so it seems like a worthwhile upgrade, but they won’t provide any miracles.

Buy these instead of an extender! – Bought this set of three antennas to replace original antennas that came with router. I had accidentally broken one antenna and signal strength had been detrimentally declined since then. Figured stronger antennas would fix issue all around. Antennas arrived super fast. Easy to install. Signal was immediately boosted, all throughout house, however, Roku still had trouble eventually got it working again not really sure why only Roku had issue. Overall a recommendable upgrade. Should have gone this route before buying an extender! That was a pain to setup.

This Antenna is a champion – Yesterday my city was rocked by a major electricity blackout that affected half of the island. The blackout also shut down my cable company, and several mobile phone provider. The only internet connection I could access was one that was operated by state-owned company. Sadly the router of that internet which was working, located 2 storey down, separated by massive concrete floor from where I operate my computer. No devices could detect its signal. I happened to buy a wifi adapter with detachable antenna the same day I bought this Antenna. I put one of this antenna to the adapter, and VOILA… I got a stable 2 out of 5 wifi signal. I love this antenna 🙂

Antennas work with my existing router – I have a Netgear R6700 V2 router and switching out my existing antennas that came with the router with these 3 improves range considerably. I’m able to get 3 bars in a room where the default antennas gave me only 2 bars. However it’s not dramatically improved, just slightly improved. But I’d say the improved range does help, especially if you’re just outside the range of your default antennas.

Good enough and great price – For the price, these are great. Normally you’d pay this price for just one antenna this size, so I say go for it if you want more than one! These did the job taking me from just barely 20 to 25 percent signal in my corner room, to a huge 68% and excellent signal boost. The reason I’m rating four stars instead of 5 is that this worked great for 2.4ghz but the 5ghz frequency experienced a signal loss rather than a gain. These provided me almost near LAN cable speeds in the 2.4ghz radio band however, so I’m satisfied enough for a FOUR star rating.

It Helps Improve Reception Over The Original Antennas, Make Great Replacements – It helps improve reception a little over the original antennas, BUT it did not let me access my remote WiFi extender on the other side of the room that helps me establish my original FiOS connection. The signal for the original connection from the ISP is very low powered still. I can still access the external router in the other room in the 5 GHz range, but I still cannot receive my ISP wireless extender nor I can receive my 5 GHz signal in the living room. It’s a good antenna for for replacement just in case you lost the original antennas that go to your router or wireless extender. I am going to order again soon when I can to get my router in my bedroom a signal boost and see if can get the 2nd router to connect much stronger.
