Best Purchase For the New House!… – Best purchase we have made for our new home. We went from speeds of 971 KBS download, 2 KBS upload and 669 ms latency to 17.56 MBS download, 1.25 MBS upload and 178 ms latency in our house. The reach of our router was barely covering our upstairs and the connectivity was slow upstairs to now we have good connectivity everywhere and the existing 2 wifi networks upstairs are WAY faster without the extra pull from the devices connected downstairs. I work in IT with mobile devices and was pretty skeptical about this helping much but I am pleasantly surprised and how well it did. Bought another one to give as a gift! You install this using your Wi-Fi enabled smartphone or tablet… – It is the gold standard in networking devices, so choosing this was easy. Everyone has their bias, so this was mine.The process: This was crazy simple to install. You just need to plug it in, wait a minute or two, go to your smartphone with Wi-Fi. Have a pen and paper handy or password management app to remember your password (there is an Admin password as well as an access password you will need to make up). My setup didn’t even include the Windows PC (which is already connected to the router by a cable) or force me to login to an annoying website. Everything is done on the smartphone.I did the usual walk around and came away very impressed with the extra one or two bars/dots it gave to spaces that languished with the barely tolerable “3”. Setup was extremely easy as you basically… – Wow I was not expecting this to work so well. After so much trouble setting up d link extenderd I nearly gave up on these as a whole.That being said, since my router is located way in the back of my house and in the den/guest room I needed some thing to boot the signal all the way to the front of the house. I was getting little to no connection at all beyond my kitchen and none in the front bedrooms.Download speeds were a paltry 1-3mb download speeds whenever I was lucky to get any kind of connection.After installing the netgear range extender all front rooms, living rooms, and bedrooms get a solid connection. The speeds I’m getting now are 15 mb download speeds at the farthest reach of the house (living room and master bedroom about 23 feet from where the router is located).Setup was extremely easy as you basically sign the extender on to your network and create an SSID extension name for the extender on the network.When all three lights on it are green it means it’s picking up a signal from your router and its broadcasting good signal to your devices. If the lights are Amber it means poor Signal and connection to devices.nksirtfghbbvgr
