Makes a Mighty Mule gate opener work better than new! – I cannot believe what a difference this antenna made on my Mighty Mule 371 gate opener. I no longer have to drive up to the gate to get the remote to open the gate. I now can open the gate way before I get to it so the gate is now open when I get there and do not have to wait for it to open. I cannot believe that for the price of these antennas that Mighty Mule cannot use these instead of the little 3 inch inch ones that it comes with. I did however install an extension cable to raise the antenna about 3 feet above where the old antenna installed at and that did not help with the original antenna very much. Also we use the wireless push button code remote for visitors and have had problems since it was installed with it not opening the gate and having to backup the vehicle a couple of feet in order for that unit to work. Now with the new antenna that problem went away and it now works like it should of when installed. I would highly recommend these antennas. I put some epoxy on the bottom of it to keep it from bending back to it straight position and also to keep the rain water from running inside that area. Then once I had it installed I took a small round circular clamp and put it between the antenna base and were it screws in about half on each side and tightened it down to keep the antenna from moving front to back when the winds come up strong.

Arrived in opened, 1/2 the package. – You have got to freaking be kidding me. I received my shipment from Amazon today. I opened the box to find this item, the antennas, were in 1/2 the original package. Package was torn. No damage to the outer box or other items in the box from Amazon. I have ordered these antennas from this seller earlier this year. They arrived in a full package with a ziplock closure at one end. Absolutely no need for anyone to tear the original package in half such as this one was. So I can only assume this item was returned by someone. My guess is that someone did not pay attention to the specific antenna connection. This has a pin in the center. Such as I ordered, so that was correct for me. I’m glad I didn’t write a review yet for the antennas I purchased earlier this year and tested. That review would have received a higher rating. Due to this issue, I wish I could do a zero star rating. Of the many years I have been an Amazon customer, this is the first time I have received an item in an opened condition. As to the operation of the antennas I ordered perviously. I installed one on the rearview camera on my travel trailer. It’s mounted up high on the rear of the trailer. That camera’s original antenna did not extend above the top of the trailer. The original antenna would drop out/lose signal while traveling down the highway. Also had a big lag in the image when it did stay connected. I installed one of these antennas on the camera, which got it above the top of the trailer a few inches. I installed a non-conductive bracket to help support the antenna as it is quite long. I also installed the other antenna I received on the monitor in my truck. The two antennas did allow me to maintain a connection between the camera and the monitor while traveling on the interstate at 70mph. Although, there was still some lag time. Not anywhere near as much as the original antennas. I did have my truck windows professionally tinted, so I don’t know if that may be contributing to the lag. I haven’t had a chance to install the monitor antenna outside the truck yet. The distance I have between the monitor and the camera is 45′. There are three roof vents and an a/c unit on the roof of the trailer between the camera antenna and the monitor. When using it at low speed backing up, it functions with no lag.

Not bad – the only thing I found is if you bend them up, they don’t stay in place too well, I think it because of the length

It works ok – Bought this in the hopes that it would improve my signal to my backup camera on a 30 foot travel trailer. Due to how my camera sits it was difficult to get this antenna attached and the old one removed without removing the entire camera. I did manage to get them changed out though and that’s really where this became just an ok antenna for the two reasons listed below.

Used on Haloview Handy 7 – I was sceptical but I was pleasantly surprised that it did add some bars to my signal. I used this on my monitor and rear camera on the RV (28ft distance). It stopped the dropping of video feed but the lag is still there. I also have 2 on the sides of the RV has full bars now and the lag is less than 1 sec so this is very useable. When it comes to antennas, bigger is better! I will replace the rear one with either an amplified one or extend the antenna to the front of the RV with a longer cable and a magnetic mount.
