Solid Router, App is finicky – A good router, it can output a standard and 5G signal. You need an app to set it up, which was definitely easier than my old router, but geez. The app crashed or gave an error a few times while trying to set up the Network name and password. It works fine now, but if you are buying this for a grandparent or someone who is not tech savvy, then you’d better help them set it up.

Great price and awesome speed – I replaced my old wireless router with the Netgear AC1200 and my internet speed went from a max of 50 mbps to over 90 mbps…that is a great improvement. I have the mobile Netgear app Nighthawk on my Iphone and it gives me access to all the devices connected to my router, tracks my data usage, and also gives me a speed test to see how fast my internet speeds is. I am very happy with the increased speeds this router gives me. I would recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade and get faster speeds.

Works as hoped. Quick setup – Delivers gigabit ethernet, which is the only reason why I upgraded from my fast ethernet Netgear router that served me without fail for many years. Setup was simple and quick. I didn’t use the Nighthawk app because my cell is running out of space, but going to 192.168.0.1 in my browser allowed for quick setup of all my devices

R6230 – Absolutely Frustrating to Configure – Netgear. We’ve had good times together. In 2005, you had a great line of cheap and reliable unmanaged switches that brought gigabit ethernet throughout my whole house. In 2007, you had the best bang-for-the-buck N600 dual band wireless routers – easy to configure and ultra reliable. In 2011, you had an awesome line of Home NAS solutions, of which I chose the ReadyNAS Duo v2. In 2018, I bought a layer 3 switch for my colocated servers, and the shine of your light started to fade.
