Best *Access Point* Range Extender Value – Bought this to add as an *Access Point* setup for my existing Netgear Nighthawk router/modem combo since our primary connection is the basement. Needed to increase our wifi signal strength throughout the house but did not want to use a wifi relay that simply “reshares” the existing wifi signal through another range extender. Probably the easiest tech setup I’ve ever experienced, with unboxing to up and running within a matter of 10-15 mins. Netgear videos on YouTube and their FAQ page on their own website specifically for *Access Point* setup made this a breeze to follow setup instructions. I already had pre-existing ethernet connections from my basement to another room on the main level of the house, which helped make the solid ethernet connection from my Netgear Nighthawk router/modem to this Netgear Nighthawk extender easy. If you plan to use this as an *Access Point* as I did, be sure to name your SSID networks the same as your existing ones for both 2.4 and 5g (along with the same passwords for both) so that you have seamless wifi roaming within the house using both the router/modem and the wifi mesh range extender.

Really Incredible Product. i don’t know where all the negatives reviews come from. – To start off, I am a network systems administrator by trade. I own a retail store on the North Shore of Long Island. The storefront is about 20,000 ft.². .. We are using a standard Linksys AC 1900 router . Unfortunately, we are only getting maybe a 4000 square-foot tops Wi-Fi coverage with our existing set up. We have credit card machines, cash registers, 10 client computers on the local network. We also have probably 30 different people logged in to our wireless network at any given time . So the coverage area is definitely pretty small. There are wooden, metal, and concrete walls to penetrate. We also have 4 x nest cameras streaming live 1080 P video 24 hours a day, seven days a week. As you can see, we have a very high bandwidth, high traffic Wi-Fi network . And we have been searching long and hard for a good extender or access point to help us out. We are using optimum online ultra 60 for our Internet access. Plugging in directly to the cable modem with an ethernet cable we get 67 down, and 27 up. Using our Wi-Fi network, on either frequency, will net us about 38 down, and 16 up. That is assuming there is no network traffic, only the single client . During the day, with the cameras rolling, and normal traffic, we get about 25 down, and 8 up which is still pretty good. With the low coverage, and the many people accessing the Internet
