Works like a charm – Comparable devices for my surface pro (from Microsoft) were significantly more money and did not come with additional USB outlets. This not only was cheaper, looks better, but also provides 2 additional USB ports which I use when traveling even without the LAN adapter.

I Love It – I’ve been using this for 2 years, and it still works perfectly. Allows me to get the full gigabit internet speed I pay for on my several years old MacBook Pro. WiFi only gets about HALF of that (which is fast enough for most things, but when you pay extra for a full gigabit…). Didn’t think I needed the extra USB 3 ports, but I’ve used them a LOT; my MacBook only has 2. So for around $20, this has been one of those purchases that’s been more than worth it. The ONLY thing that might be worth mentioning as a possible “con” is that it does get hot sometimes. But the cable keeps it far enough from the MacBook to do any damage there, and since it’s been 2 years of constant use, the heat is obviously not damaging the device itself.
